Hosting South African Partners
Summer 2008
|
|
Our partners from South Africa, led by the Rev. Joe Zibi, were guests in
our homes and in our congregation. They joined us in our outdoor worship at
Massanetta Springs Pavillon, led major portions of our Summer Night Study,
and contributed their gifts of music and dedication.

Trinity
took our visitors from South Africa to Shenandoah National Park. There we
enjoyed a fellowship meal at SKYLAND. Pure serendipity, many of the staff
at Skyland are from South Africa. Our friends introduced us to new friends.

Congregational Retreat 2009
Massanetta Springs

Stefan Andre Waligur is a
contemplative musician composer, retreat leader, and peace activist
connected for many years with the Church of the Savior in Washington, DC.
For the past ten years Stefan has been going to Taize, an ecumenical
Christian monastic community in France where most weeks during the spring
and summer between one and six thousand young people descend upon the small
community to join them three times a day in simple chants, common meals,
reflection on questions of spirituality and social justice, and simple work
and play. Stefan has been at Trinity several times before.
On Sunday, November 1, 2009, Stefan led Trinity in a Taize type worship
service featuring music, meditation,
contemplation, and activities designed to lead us into reflection upon deep
questions of spirituality.

To sample some of Stefan’s gifts you are invited to visit his web page.
