AFRICAN PARTNERSHIP
Mission Idea:
This HC began through communications and prayers with mission partners in
South Africa (St. Giles and Alexandria) and Ethiopia. Today we are associated
with the St. Peter's and Ivory Park Uniting Presbyterians Churches in one of
the townships. We have a strong supportive relationship with The Tembisa
Child Academy in Tembisa Township. This year our focus will be on maintaining
our support of African friends both here and in Africa.
BRIDGES TO BUILDING COMMUNITY
Mission Idea:
To study what can be done to promote non-violence in the school system and at
home.
Work with Kara providing food to clients on occasion. Work with and through “Our
Community Place” to enhance things that make for peace. [Formerly Bridges to Non-Violence.]
HEALTH HELPERS
Mission Idea:
Befriend and assist individuals with health problems.
Work with VAN, Free Clinic, Summit House providing office assistance and help
for clients.
Most work done individually or in pairs and then shared at house church
meetings.
KARA
Mission Idea:
Continue the mission to provide needed clothing. (Clothes Closet)
Track client visits and to build personal relationships with some of them.
EARTH CARE
Mission Idea:
Actively advocate for good stewardship of God's creation. Participate in
Faith Based
